End of year bash 2005
The 28th, 29th and 30th of December were spent based in Derby to enable us to do the Deltic and 20 railtours as well as a day at the great Central Railway in between. With a small amount of sunshine and a lot of snow 3 good (beer filled) days were enjoyed by all. As usual big thanks to all who work/volunteer in these operations for enabling me to enjoy my hobby, without people like The DPS, the GCR and Pathfinder my railway enthusiasm would be much more restricted.
Although my moves have been more restricted this year due to moving home I have managed to clock up 8529 miles costing me well over £1000, mostly behind preserved steam and diesel locos, although some of that is also 'in the second chair' in connection with one of my jobs. I also took 2,800 photographs during the year, with about 600 being pleasing, 1200 just to record a scene and about 500 deleted due to being bloody awful!!
I think it wasn't a bad 2005 considering the doom merchants said railway enthusiasm was dead more than 10 years ago, here's to more of the same in 2006 although sadly without the Rhymneys.
